Lyn Majury

Lyn was born in Devon and came to live in Northern Ireland as a teenager. She studied art while she trained as a teacher at Stranmillis College in the late sixties.  Following a period of teaching she went on to study psychology at Q.U.B. in the early seventies. She is currently working as an Educational Psychologist and has done so for 32 years.

She lives and works in Co Down and likes to paint and photograph subjects which interest her, namely,  fields, hedges and lanes at various times of the year. She paints in acrylic, watercolour, pastel and more recently has been experimenting with water soluble oil.

Currently she has been learning about printmaking and has enjoyed making various types of prints. Most of her painting is done in the evenings, so she also enjoys putting together collections of objects to create still life paintings - Cezanne being her greatest influence in this area.
